One more reason America sucks.
After I saw "Sicko," I started thinking that things in our neck of the woods may not be the best on Earth. And now, more proof. A company in Japan has instituted "heartache leave" as part of its benefits package. Seriously. And the best part is that it's graded by age, with women 30 and older getting the most days, three, because at that age women are over the hill and would be much more upset over a breakup because god knows, finding another man is like finding a needle in a haystack. (I'm paraphrasing.)

If there were "heartache leave" in the US, certain industries would fail to function. Only those that attract ice queens and men who drink their feelings away would survive because all the rest would have no one at their desks because all the employees would be home eating bon bons and crying at movies on lifetime. This is especially true given the rate at which we tend to go through boyfriends/girlfriends. If I had 3 days for every guy in the past 6 months, I'd almost have a month off. Especially if you count the first guy twice since he's felt the need to come back, and then go away, only to possibly return.
